Service Status

Hello,

Just to let you all know about a new page we have added to the site. A service status page.

You can find it at: http://www.catalyst2.com/service_status.asp

This will enable you to check if there are currently any issues with any of our servers and is a useful first point of call when you are experiencing a problem with retrieving information from your site.

If you have any comment, queries or suggestions regarding this, feel free to post.

Regards,

Jacob

You might want to change the network status link on the home page.

Excellent (but just to make it perfect for the hard of learning perhaps a 'key' would be useful ie Green means server up etc!)

Looks great to me, how about 'status as of date/time' as well?

The pages checks as you load it, and the status itself is taken from offsite monitoring (alertra).

Out of interest does it ping the server to make sure its alive? Or actually test the service?

Also anychance of getting db servers added to that list?

It tests the service, so it checks it can login to pop3, checks a webpage fully loads etc. Doesnt just ping the boxes.

The db ones are more complex as alertra doesnt have a feature to test it as such, but I am going to see what I can arrange

The key certainly helps make this a bit more obvious, good idea to get this up and running at last.

I've been playing with a server status tool of my own to display on the web but have kind of let it lapse a little.

Is there any chance of a reseller version of this that we can use or just a plain page version that can be I Framed for example?

Tim,

What would you want the reseller version to display?

Well for me i'd be selfish as i only do Windows accounts i'd like everything thats not linux related but i would like the mysql database monitor too.

Any chance of the code to do this as it would be nice to format it differently so it would fit in a bit better?

By the way the Rate Catalyst2 link that you have on your profile and Paul's do go to the site but that site doesn't seem to let you actually submit comments. I've tried a couple of times before and just noticed again that you still only have 4 reviews! Might be worth testing it and getting on to the company concerned if there is a problem.
