sub domains homesick blues

I have set up some sub domains under our reseller account (using the sub domains section in helm) but I need to know the following:
1. I can't seem to create an ftp account for the sub domain (there is no option to do so, unlike 'full' domains)?
2. is it possible to alias a sub domain to another sub domain (again there is no option to do so, unlike 'full' domains)?

You can only have seperate FTP accounts for a subdomain if the subdomain is added as a 3rd level domain. The work around is to set the FTP account to the root folder of '/wwwroot/subdomain/'

This again is a lot easier if you have the domain as a 3rd level domain. I think you could add a DNS record
Type: CNAME
Name: Subdomain to point to another subdomain
Data: Aliased subdomain

Many thanks for the quick reply Jason.

I see now that the creation of the subdomain has created a folder beneath the root of the 'main' domain, so that is how I ftp to it.

So I assume that the answer to the second part of my query is 'no you cannot alias a sub domain to another sub domain'.

No you can, you just need to add a new DNS entry (with care) you also need to make sure your user has the DNS rights to do so.
