This issue has now been resolved. If you are still experiencing problems, please open a ticket.
The cause of the down time was that a bug caused the mailserver to loose its configuration which we then restored from a backup but a few issues meant it took longer than expected to restore. Regards, Jacob

Firstly, apologies for the mail outage this afternoon, we have now identified and fixed the problem. However these issues have prompted us to order a new machine to replace orange, which should help prevent any future issues arising.
This machine will be installed on Friday evening, when we will move all email to the new server, this will however require an outage to the POP3 and SMTP services, so mail will not be available for around 4-5hrs. Any email will be queued on our backup servers and forwarded to your mailbox once the new server is up and running, so no email will be lost as a result of the move. For those who are interested the new server is a Dual Xeon 2.8, 4GB RAM and 3 x 146GB SCSI HD's in RAID5. This is the start of a few servers we will be replacing over the coming months, and also upgrading them to windows 2003 so we can more easily support new features such as .net2. Apple will be the next server to be replaced, followed just after christmas by lime and pineapple. If you have any questions regarding the upgrade please let us know by emailing support@catalyst2.com |
