Connecting to MS SQL remotely

Has anyone got any advice on how best to connect to the MS SQL databases remotely. We're ok using ODBC strings from our ASP scripts but not using Enterprise Manager or the cat2 online administrator at :

Sometimes we can get in (1 in every 10 attempts) but are then thrown off.

Cheers

MS Access...

Is a surpisingly nippy and competent front end for ms sql server. You don't get all the features of EM, but if you are just maintaing a db it is very convenient, this along with Query Analyzer should sort you out. To connect in Access 2003 (I think it works in 2000/xp but don't know), create New>Project using existing data, save the .adp file somewhere, fill in the details and off you go. I would be interested to know other people's ideas though.
