MySQL version

Hi, could you please tell me which version of MySQL is currently running for the windows packages? Any idea yet when/if it'll be upgraded to v5?

We now use version 4.1 for all new databases. v5 isnt stable, so it will be quite some time before we even look at upgrading.

Thanks Paul. The sp support and nested queries is nice in 5 though. :P But stability first.

Indeed some of MySQL 5's features are nice, but I value my sanity! I remember some of the old MySQL betas

Exclamation

Quick question,

On mango, i get the following from phpmyadmin:

MySQL 4.0.20-standard running on localhost

Because this is below v4.1.1 i cannot use many of the new date and time functions but you said in a previous post all servers ran 4.1 - so i am confused.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Matt Ridley

The posts earlier in this thread relate to the Windows MySQL server, cPanel runs 4.0.x for stability reasons and due to their software integration.

Any chance of Linux mySQL being updated to 4.1? I want to use subqueries, but they're not properly supported in versions previous to 4.1

As mentioned earlier in this thread, we will stick to what cPanel deem to be stable for the machines, due to the interdependence of cPanel and MySQL.

Do you have any channel of communication with the people working on cPanel? I've just discovered another function I need (GROUP_CONCAT) is only available since 4.1.

I presume it won't be possible to change just my client's account to 4.1?
