Database backends

Hi Guys,

I see there is an option on my Mega deal to upgrade to an "Extra mySQL" database. Could I have some more info on it please?

Other questions would be is mySQL a standard in the web database market, I'm really asking whats the difference between this and MSSQL?

Can one database do all for the site, say I have a forum and a news part and something or other (not heavy usage on any of them) would one database do them all or would I need one for each.

At the end of my "mega deal" year I expect to upgrade to the "Power" hosting package, is there any forseeable problems?

Thanks
B.

Hi,

It is a 25mb mySQL Database £24.99/year. For information on the differences I would recommend you have a look on google.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=mys...en-GB:official

You can do it all in one, if it less than 25MB in total - for a small, low usage site this should be fine.

There should be no problem upgrading...

If you have any further questions, just post back.

Regards,

Jacob
