Moving mysql from windows to linux

I have a mysql database on the windows package that I can access using dbtools (but no longer phpmyadmin as the account has expired) and am trying to move it to a new linux package which (I can admin using phpmyadmin). Does anyone have any advice on the best way to do this.

I can't seem to be able to connect to the linux database using dbtools either - what settings should I use for the hostname?

We may be able to do a MySQL dump from the windows MySQL server and restore it to the linux server you are on. I will check about this and get back to you.

If you want to access the linux MySQL database using dbtools, you will need to set and "Access Hosts" - on the MySQL page in cPanel to:

%

this allows access to any IP Address as long as they have the correct username and password.

What is your domain name and I can tell you the host you need to set.

Regards,

Jacob

I have just checked and we can do a dump and then restore for the cost of £10 - if you would like us to do this for you, please open a ticket.
