Change domain name ?

I have a windows megahosting deal which I've been using for two years -

I have the name http://www.lithgowfamily.co.uk pointing at my (only) domain lithgowfamily.co.uk via Low Cost names, where I added the relevant DNS entries.

I no longer wish to use the site name http://www.lithgowfamily.co.uk. I have obtained http://www.clanl.co.uk, I wish to point this at the only domain I have (currently lithgowfamily.co.uk) with Catalyst. I have updated th dns entires for http://www.clanl.co.uk with the Catalyst details.

My question(s) is:

Can you rename my existing domain lithgowfamily.co.uk to clanl.co.uk via control panel or can I raise a ticket ??
or
Can I safely delete the existing domain, and add a new one clanl.co.uk.

Would the latter approach blow away any data I have there already ??

Sincere apologies if this has been covered in a forum item elsewhere, I didnt see anything in the knowledge base...

Hi,

To swap over domains in Helm you would need to delete the existing domain from your package and then add in the new one. All data for the old one would be lost.

If you would not like to swap over domains but rather mirror another domain then a domain alias is what you want, this will allow for http://www.clanl.co.uk to display the same as http://www.lithgowfamily.co.uk.

You can add a domain alias as an extra feature. To install any extra features on your helm account, login and choose PACKAGES >> YOUR PLAN >> EXTRA FEATURES. Once you pay for the feature it will become active.

To delete the domain and add a new one press the delete button when you are looking at options under your domain in Helm.
