Temporary URL and linked files (CSS and images)

We have a new hosting package and the html pages are currently being uploaded. We currently have a problem as the site does not display correctly using the temporary URL.

DENTSPLY Middle East & Africa: Homepage

The site is coded with the html set with relative links back to the images and CSS. As such the browser looks for the CSS and image files at the top level (which would be correct with the domain assigned, i.e. www.domain.com/images ) however with a temporary domain it links back to cPanelŽ and finds nothing. Ideally the html would find the image files at the correct level i.e. Index of /~dentsply/images

I need to preview the site before re-pointing the domain to this new host (at Catalyst2). Is there anyway of getting the site to preview correctly, other than purchasing a real domain and pointing it to this site as an interim step?

I hope that makes sense. Any feedback would be appreciated.

One final question, if the leading / off of the /css/ is removed, when the domain is switched to point to Catalyst2's servers, it should still display correctly shouldn't it? With the images being picked up from the correct locations?

Darren,

Glad it worked. When you swap to the domain it should all work the same, essentially with the leading / you are making the path to the file:

http://www.domain.com//folder/image.jpg

Even if the client just visits http://www.domain.com the server assumes there is a / at the end as they are already in the root folder.
