Spam
I have a single catch-all mail account for a Cat2 domain forwarded to my personal email and with an auto-responder set. This has recently begun to get significant numbers of bounce-back messages for emails I haven't sent - it seems the spammers have begun to use my domain name. It's pretty hard to trace exactly where they're coming from though they seem to be mostly in the far east (surprise, surprise), but I'd like to do what I can to make their life as difficult as possible.
This might easily have an effect on other domains using the same server as AOL, etc, blacklist spamming sites by IP address. Any advice on how to achieve this? I'm also considering how to set my email accounts so I only have messages directed to specific email addresses on my domain forwarded. Cheers, Ian. |

Not that this will help, but I've also experienced a sudden VAST increase in 'undelivered' emails over the past two days (Not related to Catalyst).
Just to let you know it's not just you.

Hi,
Our normal advice for this issue is: 1. Please ensure you have updated all passwords. 2. Turning off the catch-all address on your account as this may reduce the number of bounce back emails 3. Setting up a filter in your email client to move all bounce back messages into your Deleted Items. 4. Remove any auto-responders that are setup. Regards, Jacob
