Email Spoofing

Over the last day I've recieved a whole bunch of undeliverable emails that I did not send

It looks like someone may have spoofed my domain

I really don't want to get my account suspended for spamming. Does anyone have any advice?

Hi,

Firstly, please ensure you have updated all passwords. As you have seen, the chances are that these emails are not from your email account but spammers are forging email headers so it looks like they are coming from your email accounts and therefore you are getting all the bounce back messages. Unfortunately, we cannot do anything about this. I would suggest:

1. Turning off the catch-all address on your account as this may reduce the number of bounce back emails

2. Setting up a filter in your email client to move all bounce back messages into your Deleted Items.

3. Remove any auto-responders that are setup

If you require any further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Regards,

Jacob

email spoofing

getting desperate here as well.

I realize that I have a single address, so turning off my catch all means all the email that would come to me legitimtely addresed to anything except my single address would die.

While I do have the ability to remove spam from my inbox manually, it is a complete waste of time. It takes a long time to download 800 virus infected emails and then delete them. If I had multiple email addresses I could at least black hole some of this stuff that comes using the same address over and over again.

Also, is there a possiblity to verify the IP address sending the email matches the domain listed as the return address ?

I look forward to seeing what will happen with spam filter as promised in other thread, but if it is not available to people who have the single email address accounts, I really do not see a future here

Unfortunately it is somewhat out of our control, we can do nothing at the moment to mitigate this type of issues, I am not aware of any provider that could to be honest.

Its one of the issues of using a catch all account.
