SMTP with AOL
Hi
I have setup my domain email through outlook 2007 and it has been working fine for months, i used the same settings i've been using for years, mail.domain.com for incoming and outgoing and 'my outgoing server requires authentication' this works perfectly fine, however i've been using an AOL connection in the past few weeks and i'm unable to send emails, when I send a test email though outlook it comes up with: 'None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by the server' none of the settings have been changed, i'm moving between 2 connections, a cable and a DSL line, the cable works perfectly but the AOL connection doesnt with the same settings. I've tryed to use AOL's outgoing server (smtp.aol.com) which uses port 587 and it still doesnt work. Does anyone have any ideas why? Thanks Myles |

If I recall correctly, AOL do not allow you to use anyone elses mail server to send emails.

damn them,
i've tryed to use their settings for the outgoing mail server but it just comes up with the error: 'the server responded: 550 incorrect domain in MAIL/RCPT command' i think i read that they didnt allow their smtp server to be used by pop3 accounts only IMAP, is there any other way? |
