New server

Hi

I moved approx. a week ago, maybe ten days, and since then I had : once SQL server down, twice mail server down for several days (actually I don't even know if it ever worked on the new server longer than a day), once IIS down plus the FTP problems.

In particular the mail server unreliability makes me mad.

Till now the new server is more like a rotten apple for me, or is "Apple" an Apple??

It's not only that I can't respond to visitors, simply 'cause I can't any mail, thus maybe considered being arrogant, but also using CDONTs to send mail doesn't work, not only for me, but also for this forum. I tried to get my unknown password (never got an activation mail, Paul needed to activate me manually) but the mail never received my mailbox, so I don't know my own password at this forum, luckily the password was stored in a cookie so I don't need to login now, but it's encrypted so I can't read it.

PS : I repeat it : I would suggest to use some other mail server. We had so many, many problems with Merak now in such a short time, even on the old server, that I would even pay more if Paul could decide to get IMail or Exchange Server.

I fully agree. I see the value of a reliable mail service as much more important that even the uptime of my site.
