Any good forum apps out there

I am interested in adding a forum (messageboard) to one of my sites and was wondering which free apps are worth looking at.

I dont really want to go with vbulletin simply because of the licence fee. I am fairly good with asp and have no knowledge of sql /ms sql but I am willing to learn on that front as the hosts here dont like access db's.

My account is a windows one so I dont think the php boards will be any good for me.

Have you seen /used/installed a good forum application? Make a recommendation.

Send a message via MSN to DaveLegg
I think the latest version of IPB is version 2.0.4, and I don't think it is free any longer. You should check out the license file that came with the download to see if you are actually allowed to use it.

That version was available for free download when it was their current version.

Since that time they have made it a paid license product with their newer versions. The licence also says that you can use the product to evaluate it but does not give a maximum time frame for the evaluation.

I think I will need to evaluate it for at least two years.
