Recent Issues on Grape
If you have sites hosted on Grape, then you are probably aware of the recent security issues that have allowed a hacker to get in and deface your sites.
This was done by an Iranian hacker who goes by the name of Access Violation. He agreed that if I posted here and on my site, explaining his reasons for attacking the server, he would leave it alone in the future, which seemed to be a fair deal. So, here are his reasons. His attack was to raise awareness of the conflict in the middle-east involving Israel and Palestine, in which a number of palestinian children have died. He also wanted to alert us to the fact that the UK is supporting Israel in the conflict, and that is why he is targeting sites on a UK server. While I don't condone the actions he has taken to raise the awareness, I agree that any conflict that results in the killing of children can never be a good thing. I hope that by showing him that we feel this way will help him to understand that no sane person would condone actions which result in harm coming to children of any age, nationality or religion. He also suggested I post the links to the following three pages: http://www.tejarats.com/a-v/P-child.jpg http://www.womenforpalestine.com/020403v2/pp.htm http://www.womenforpalestine.com/020...shGAZAhome.htm |

Whilst I can understand the hackers pain and desperation, and without wanting to start a mini war on the forums:
Mr "Access Violation", one act of terrorism does not solve/stop another. It will certainly not make myself (and I believe most others) sympathetic to your course.

I do agree with Jason that this sort of action doesn't win any fans....if people disagree with certain policies and have voted against a goverment, they can not then be marked as 'guilty' and therefore considered an enemy.
Why not choose a more relative target? Whilst we (the common man!) may not agree with what is going on in the world, rarely do we have the power to stop it however idealistic the notion of 'people power' is. I don't agree with any conflicts and with so many underlying reasons for them which we are unaware of, I doubt we could ever understand them. Anyway, one thing concerns me still... He agreed that if I posted here and on my site, explaining his reasons for attacking the server, he would leave it alone in the future, which seemed to be a fair deal. should we be concerned that this will occur again then? And should we be afraid to air our views thus causing another 'attack'? |
