.net 2.0
Following on from a previous thread. Now we are approaching February, is there a release date planned for .NET2.0 on Catalyst2?
Just starting my new site and want to know which technology I should be choosing.

Can't wait now. Have started the site using .NET 2.0 - my first go with VS2005 for web apps.
(As you can see, I am forumming again. forum.catalyst2.com is fine, forum.catalyst2.co.uk still giving unauthorised but the party is back on over here again! )

Are you sure about the MSDE EULA?
I know of web sites running on it on Microsoft Hosted Application licenses. Microsoft even say in parts that it is good for low usage web sites. If we get SQL2005 Express, will it be a free, cheap or expensive addon? |

In an answer to my question, the answer for MSDE2000 at least appears to be a resounding no. Strange then that Microsoft talk about web site usage. I guess they mean Intranet only.
From the EULA: "NO RENTAL/COMMERCIAL HOSTING. You may not rent, lease, lend or provide commercial hosting services with the Software." ...now to find out about 2005. |
