ASP Components

Hi everyone,

We are just about to standardise the components available on the windows servers, below is a list of the components we will be making available, if anyone has any suggestions on a component they would like to see please do post and let us know

CDONTS
CDOSYS
Software Aritisans Fileup
Persists ASPupload
Persists ASPjpeg
Persists ASPemail
Persists ASPPDF

This goes for any .net components that people would find useful as well!

Will we still be able to get third party components registered on Cat2 servers in the future which aren't on the list

What about Persits JUpload?

It requires ASPupload to be installed on the server which is already on your list.

It offers browser independance and seems a lot more stable than ASPupload when you integrate it with a progress bar

I believe you can install it for free on any server but users must purchase their own license file which sits in their root directory to unlock the component fully

Jupload is an additional licence, would anyone else find this helpful?

Did you remove CDOSYS from the list?

Also will you be stopping emails that don't have a domain hosted by CAT2 being sent from a form? If so will this only apply to emails with a cat2 hosted domain in the 'from' or will you allow emails with a cat2 domain in the 'to'?

Hi,

I will update it now, forgot to update the forum post from the email The domain only affects the from domain, the emails can still be sent to any address.

This is going to be a big problem, most of the forms I use are From the customer To the client. So when a customer places an order for example an email is sent to alert the client and can reply to the order if necessary.

Adam,

These checks are already in place for anyone using cdonts, but we will be making them system wide because of the increasing spam problem I am afraid.

You can still set the Reply-To address as what ever you wish.

I think you've mis understood what I am asking.

My concern is that some of the CDOSYS scripts will stop working because an email will be sent something like this:

To: sales[at]catalyst2hostedsite.com
From: someperson[at]hotmail.com
Subject: Order placed
Body: An order has been placed on your website.

I understand that this will work:

To: someperson[at]hotmail.com
From: sales[at]catalyst2hostedsite.com
Subject: Thankyou for your order
Body: Your order will be sent soon!

I hope that it won't matter if the domain name for the site is placed in either the to or from as long as its in one of those fields but from what I am being told this won't be the case. In which case I will come and beat Paul with a stick until he makes my sites work again.

I know roughly where he lives, I have narrowed it down to 1 country...

Can I raise a ticket so this won't happen because this will mean a lot of unpaid work that I really could do with out right now.
