How to stop hotlinking

One of our sites just lately has attracted a lot of hotlinking of our images (largely on myspace but also on quite a few other websites), which obviously is sucking up our bandwidth allowance. Can anyone advise on the best way to block people sticking our images on their sites? We're on strawberry server.

I've seen third party software you can download, but I guess this has to be installed at server level.

Any help would be much appreciated thank you.
