Lightbulb Questions

The Reseller accounts sound interesting but I'm unsure about lots of things and can't really find many details. How does a reseller get paid for example?

hello gavin

i'll try and answer you question as a reseller myself

as a reseller you dont sell catalyst's preset packages. you hire a large amount of webspace from catalyst along with all the gubbings that go with them, then you decied how to sell this space on to others, who pay you directly, either by spliting it to lots of very small packages for the "home user" or larger packages for businesses. Or doing custom packages as i do.

but all the time your customers pay YOU directly and you can charge what you want for the space (remembering how much your compertion is charging)

hope this helps and if your wondering why i've just told you all this my reason is the more compertion the cheaper web hosting will get which means more business alround

HELM can automatically send out billing requests for you, but you have to collect the money from your clients....

If you have a merchant account, you can use WorldPay or similar, but for very few accounts, I'd probably recommend Paypal, since you can pay Catalyst2 from Paypal.

I'm hoping to become a reseller myself, once I have managed to convince one of my clients to not pay £35 a month to Iarna (Hostway UK) for 2 sites, but to pay it to me instead for better support and easier maintainance from me.

I have been a reseller for a while now, it takes a while to learn how to use HELM as there are many more features than when you are just an ordinary user but it is worth it in the end. Now my clients can buy space from me rather than me recommending a third party host.

Regards,

Jacob
