Linking Existing Domain Names

Hello,

I've registered technagen.com and technagen.co.uk through 1and1.co.uk. I would like to host my asp.net application through Cat2 using the .com domain and passing the .co.uk requests to the .com location.

Looking at the 1and1 domain admin page all I need to do is specify the following information: {Forwarding Destination; Title; Meta Description; Meta Keywords}.

What I would like to know is can I simply order a 'Mega Deal' package and point my domains to the asp.net file locations? If so, do I need to pay anything more than the yearly package subsciption with Cat2?

Sorry if this seems simple, only I've never hosted my own site before.

Regards,

Steve

Yup your correct.

If in Helm (once you've created your account) if you create the .com domain as the main domain, then create the .co.uk domain as a domain alias. Mega Deal does not come with domain alias's, so this will be an extra at £5 /yr

The alternative is if you can in the 1&1 control pannel forward the .co.uk to the .com, which obviously would be free.

Hope that helps

Jas

Smile Where To Forward To

Hi,

Many thanks for your prompt response. I will by buying the package later this week. Just a quick question though, What will be the address I forward my .com domain to? Will it be something like http://1and1.co.uk/technagen.com?

Regards,

Steve

it will be something like yourdomain.com.active-ns.com if it has to be a url. I dont know the 1&1 control pannel, but idearly you want to change the namedservers to catalyst2's.
