Linux or Windows?

What the pros and cons of Linux and Windows as hosts? I want to set up a site for my canoe club, so a fairly simple site. But I need to be able to change content regularly, add photo albums for trip reports, and we would also like a simple message/buletin board or calendar to help people hook up for ad hoc trips. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

To be honest it depends what you need, some scripts will only support linux and vice versa. Do you have an idea in mind of what you need to support?

As I said, photo albums for club trips, and ideally some sort of bulletin board (Ikonboard?) or calendar for club members to hook up and arrange ad hoc trips. Not a great deal that's complicated, it's just a club site.

IB will work best on linux, so on that basis id say linux hosting.

I'd say windows - but mostly because I know very little about linux and think .net rocks!
