25Mb SQL 2000 Database and phpBB

Hiya,

I'm wanting to setup a forum on my website using phpBB but as I forsee a lot of use I'd like to do it using an SQL DB.

I've got the phpBB software, can I just purchase the '25Mb SQL 2000' database option and then it's just a case of configuring the phpBB software?

I've done a few searches of the forums and have found various bits of info, as well as some people encountering the same probs when using the Access DB. But none have turned up exactly what I'm after.

Thx for your help
Chris

In theory, yes. Make sure you havea good read of the setup docs from phpbb: http://www.phpbb.com/support/documen...tall#nonaccess

Hmm, perhaps I've opened a can of worms for myself, have purchased the 25Mb SQL option but now I get the following error:

-------------
phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database
-------------

Now the only thing I can see that could be at fault is that I'm unable to create a database username/password in Helm with the following error:
----------------
Unable to add more database users to this database. Please contact your web hosting company and ask them to raise the limit on the number of Database User Accounts that this domain can host.
----------------

Perhaps something else needs activating?

cheers
Chris

In simple you've run out of database users you can have assigned to your databases. To get more you need to buy more as addons

That's what seems to be the case but I haven't created any users as yet, when you buy the 25mb SQL upgrade do you then have to buy a user account to use it??? Seems a bit daft if so as there's no mention of it when I brought the upgrade.
