SSL for ecommerce site
Hi there,
I have a question about your SSL for windows. I will need to run a set of asp pages that will encrypt information and send via email. My question is really what is the main difference between a shared SSL and dedicated SSL. is it down to how the URL appears? I normally dont have to encrypt data so this is new to me. edit: what is the url that appears if you have a shared ssl? Thanks

Steve,
It is basically down to the url, plus the fact a dedicated cert will have your name on it etc. A dedicated cert will generally look like: https://secure.yourdomain.com/ A shared cert will be in the form: https://servername.sslsecuredsite.com/yourdomain-com/ If you have any other questions please let me know. |
