Move hosts

Hi
I currently have my url hosted with a Australian Site. I am not happy with the downtime i am getting. I already have a mega hosting deal with you for 2 other URLs. I want to move the other one across to you as well under a new hosting deal (the others are combined). I did the others myself when they were new but am worried this might be a bit more complex. So...

-is it just a matter of setting up a deal, and doing it the same as i did the others?

-i have email addresses with the current host - will that be affected at all?

- i have a /community and /gallery on my site. Will them come across too at the same time? What about all the images and messages?

- finally, do i need an expert to do this for me or can i do it myself. I am a programmer by trade, worked in IT for the last 20 years, but in software development, not hosting. But i am reasonaby savvy. I just dont want my site to crash.

thanks
Debra

Hi Debra,

Do you currently have windows or linux pacakges? For linux packages you just need to signup again from scratch and when asked if you are an existing user just enter your billing email address and password. For windows packages you can login to helm and add an a new package from within helm and then add your new domain.

Regarding your email accounts, you are probably best of moving everything including your email accounts to us as it will make things simpler for you.

If you download all files and backup all databases that are currently with your host and then upload them all to our servers, you should not lose any information.

As I do not know your level of expertise it is difficult to know whether or not you need an expert to help you however you can be sure that we will help you every step of the way.

If you have any further questions feel free to open a ticket or post back.

Regards,

Jacob
