PSNews

Im trying to get PSNews running on my Linux hosting.

All has installed ok but the news is not showing on my web page. To see the error go to http://www.twfnews.com/news2.shtml

The version of PSNews Ive downloaded is from here

http://www.psword.com/psnews/download.html (its the psndevel062003 version)

One more thing, when I look on my error log on cPanelX, the following error is shown

client 82.42.119.23] unable to include "/home/ball06/public_html/news/include.cgi?cat=all&tmpl=defhead" in parsed file /home/ball06/public_html/news2.shtml
[Thu Mar 2 19:54:05 2006] [error] [client 82.42.119.23] File does not exist: /home/ball06/public_html/home/ball06/public_html/news/include.cgi

PLEASE can somebody help? This has been going on for months and I know its something simple but I cant see it.

Thankyou in advance

Hi,

You are referencing the file:

/home/ball06/public_html/home/ball06/public_html/news/include.cgi

surely this is wrong...have you checked your settings. Should it not be trying to find:

/home/ball06/public_html/news/include.cgi ?

Regards,

Jacob

[Tue Apr 11 19:18:44 2006] [error] [client 82.42.119.23] File does not exist: /home/ball06/public_html/home/ball06/public_html/news/include.cgi

Hi,

It's really unlikely that the path /home/ball06/public_html/home/ball06/public_html/news/include.cgi exists, as it'd mean that you'd created another folder called "home" under your public_html folder (I checked, there's not one there :-)).

I suspect that there's a path setting you've got wrong somewhere - the absolute path to that file would be /home/ball06/public_html/news/include.cgi

Hope this helps,
Rob

Send a message via MSN to DaveLegg
change the include from
"/home/ball06/public_html/news/include.cgi?cat=all&tmpl=defhead"
to
"/news/include.cgi?cat=all&tmpl=defhead"
and that should resolve it.
