Unhappy Working With Visual Web Developer

I am just starting out with ASP.Net and developing pages using Visual Web Developer. It all seems rather clever, built in login portals, dragging tables onto pages to create data-grids automatically, blah blah blah.

It all seems to get very complicated though as soon as you want to do something out of the norm. Is it strange that a user should want to edit a database field using a TextArea. Microsoft seems to think so!

To sum it all up, I'm trying to create a page that can be edited with a WYSIWG TextArea. I have downloaded one. It seems to work well, what I can't do is put that output into an SQL database.

How would I do this? Or should I use somehing like SQL. Again How Could I Do This?

Please help me. I'm going slowly but surely insane over this!
