wordpress - image upload problem

i have wordpress Version 2.3.1 installed at my domain.. however when i try and uplaod images, i get the error...

Unable to create directory .... wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

i have tried changing the permissions on the mentioned folder as a few other articles mentioned but still i get the error and im unable to upload images

Geoff,

If you can open a ticket with the details we can check the permissions on your site.
