Question Trust issue with ASP .NET CMS?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of using an ASP .NET CMS system called umbraco
We're using Catalyst shared hosting with ASP .NET 2. It has the following requirements:

For umbraco v3.0
- IIS
- SQL Server (2000, 2005, SQLexpress, etc.)
- ASP.NET 2.0
- ASP.NET AJAX
- Full-Trust (High-Trust is the minimum; Medium-Trust will not work)
- Ability to set your website's file permissions to include create/read/write (or better) for the user that "owns" the Application Pool for your site (NETWORK SERVICE, typically)

I'm guessing this is not going to be possible because of the Trust level requirements. Am I correct? If it's not possible, does Catalyst have any other options to host Umbraco. It's a great open source product.
Thanks,

Will,

It won't work on our standard shared hosting as thats medium trust, but our premium hosting does allow full trust - Catalyst2 - UK web hosting - shared and dedicated managed windows and linux hosting

I have a Premium account with Cat2 and host Umbraco on it. All works absolutely fine; and yes it's a great product.

Umbraco hosting

Hi Paul and Dan,

Thanks for the information. I'll consider moving up to the premium hosting. The only real issue with umbraco is the very specific hosting requirements.

Will,

As Dan says, all works fine on the premium hosting because of the elevated trust we can provide.

We can upgrade you current account to a premium account very easily, so just let us know if you wish to proceed.
