What do you guys think?

I am having trouble getting it listed in the search engines and the visiter numbers aren't much above 20-30 a day and not really picking up. This is the first entertainment web site that I've done so I don't really know where to start but I've got a few link exchanges here and there. Could there be a forum where we discuss FREE ways to boost visiter numbers?

Reduce the number of keywords you have, should be no more than 9 keywords. Too many keywords can be considered spam.

Ensure that your keywords are used somewhere in the body, headings of you site. Doing this ensures that your keywords are relevant and boosts their score.

Use alt text to give a description of each image (<img src="pic.gif" alt="Picture">, pictures are also important content of your site, so ensure that the search knows what the image is by giving in an alternative means of recognising what the image is. A search engine doesn't know the difference between you sex & sport logo and a picture of a tree so tell it.

Don't just use CSS to style your text, use <h1><h2>etc.. tags to give titles and subtitles in your page. If you have in your code <h1>A red lorry</h1> then the search engine will know that you page will be pretty relevant to red lorries. However, <font size=5>A red lorry</font> this as far as the search engine is concerned is no different to the rest of the text.

Do not use any keywords that may leave the search engine to believe the site to be a porn site, this will make your site harder to find.

Marketing your site, do something origional. Create some flash games, email them to your friends and they will then email them on and before you know it you site will become very well know and popular, as long as you can come up with some origional games. But, if you have the knowledge its a free way of advertising your site. Alternatively come up with some emails that people will want to forward on.

List your site on altavista.com it will take 2 months but your site will be eventually be listed on all the major search engines.

Don't put restricted content on your home page, and dont use the restricted meta tag on the home page, people may look up your page on a public computer and will not be able to access it, however, if they know what the site is about they may look it up at home.

needs to be registered to see anything there should be somthing free that temps u to subsribe even if it is free

I'm really gratefull to you for replying. I have listed it in altavista.com and changed the meta tags + images + I will do the <h1> titles etc soon. I will make some sections so you don't have to register.
