seriously harsh feedback please

Hey

Just 'finished' my portfolio site, I need this to compete at a pretty decent standard so I'd really apreciate any feedback you could give me.

Its at http://www.understatedart.co.uk

Thankyou

typos

On the home page street crime is spelt sreet crime.

They really are some beautiful pictures!

The light blue surround makes a good frame for all of your pics.

Not all thumbnail pics open to a larger picture when clicked.

I think your logo of 'Mark Hammond' should be slightly changed so that the beginning tail of 'M' lines up exactly with the vertical section of the 'H' character. At the moment it does line up but not exactly, praps a few pixels out.

apart from that I think your site rocks!

Tim.

Smile Nice

Generally nice - I like the photographs.

It looks a little lost when I fire up the monitor at 1600 x 1200.

As you said be harsh, a couple of little items...

I think the text is a bit small - there is no way my wife could read it without her glasses and you can't make it any bigger using the browser text size settings (this could cause issues with disability rights legislation).

Also, when you have multiple photos on a page the little arrows don't appear until you hover over where you expect they may be. I had a few twizzles of the mouse wheel before realising it wouldn't work.

Then again, I am no designer!

....just noticed you spelled India incorrectly.

The site also does not work in Opera; the menu system doesn't pop up.

brilliant cheers.
yeah i work in 1600 by 1200 the first design fitted nicly then i went down to 800 600 and everything looked enourmous so if im gonna keep it in a box its gotta fit on the 800 600's really - although that is only about 1% of visitors so maybe i wont worry!
Opera - Ill have to link the button to a page of options - ah if i did this for a living these browser differences would drive me insane!

Ah Id only checked the text resize in mozilla, no idea why that won't work in IE, anyone know?

India - corrected

Yeah I wasn't sure about the arrows hiding until moused over, looks neat but not that useable, I'll sort that out.

Cheers, big help.

edit - just looked at your site 'no designer'? looks bloody smart to me!!
