Rather than saying what a good site it is and giving you some encouragement I will give you some 'constructive critism' that will be of more use to you.

looks a little amaturish I think with some more thought it can become a lot more professional.

The design is solid (that means the content does not resize to fit the browser window) at 1024 res there is a lot of empty space. Rather than using specific sizes ie width=600 for tables use things like width="100%" this way the size of the table matches that of the screen.

Think about your identity, you logo isn't the best logo around it is best to have a simple logo a good example is looking at how Shell (they sell petrol if your not familier) over the years it has evolved its logo from a graphic of a shell to a much more simple shape that people rememer. On the other hand BP have gone from a simple shape to a more complicated graphic. The purpose is to create an image that people will remember, text is just text where as an image gives more identity.

Advertising is probably not worth it. And again it takes away that professional finish, the google search may seem like a nice feature but infact you are encouraging people to leave the site.

Try working with the contrast and colours to give the site a more eye pleasing look. You could make better use of your images to give the site a more interesting feel to it.

The site itself looks as though it will have some good stuff on it so I hope it all goes well.

Thanks for the post, just what I was looking for.

I'm more of a programmer than a web designer, but looking to get more into it, graphic design is something I'm definitely going to have to improve on.

I'm not sure about the table thing I read somewhere fixed tables make the page quicker to load.

I agree with the logo thing, sometimes you need a bit of inspiration.

I'll probably scrap the idea of advertising for now, maybe offer a link exchange.

Still earlier days hoping it will evolve in time.
