Wow I get to be the first post, that's a first.
Well better say Hi, just got my VPS up and running - thanks Rob, much more "fun" having a whole machine to use !

& heres a Tip, might help someone or show how stupid I am

The admin console for a VPS is accessed by SSH - not the web...Obvious really but took me a few minutes to figure out !

I'm tempted to get one to run Java...

Hi Daymark, nothing too exciting I'm afraid - standard web server stuff, Apache, PHP, mySQL. Plan is to migrate some sites we have hosted elsewhere to bring them more under our own control. It's a bit more work on a VPS but more freedom and control of whats going on - definetly recommended !

get to make all your own mistakes....
